The Axe:
Mankind's Quest for a more perfect tool, the axe has been the most
versatile tool ever invented by man. It has been used by primitives, scholars
warriors and presidents. It is the principal tool for survival in the wild and the fundamental
tool for architecture and boat building.
In the 20th. century, jazz musicians embraced the Axe handle
by referring to their instrument as an Axe and to themselves as Axemen.
An so it is today, the Axe represents a cutting edge tool in the hands
of an accomplished Axeman. It is to these Axemen and Women that this publication is dedicated.

The grinding wheel is used to give the rough shape to the cutting edge
and work out any problems that the blade might have incurred in its use.
Hence the Axiom of "having an axe to grind" so this would be
the place to hash out all the nicks and damages incurred in the process
of living our daily lives doing "Th "Grind". Everyone
has an axe to grind about something. It does not all belong here .Only
creative axe grinding for the balanced edge. |
Making this first publication is a reminder of the honing and refining
that must go into every creative process. After the edge is ground on the
wheel, it must then be honed to finely balanced edge which will ultimately
be guided by the skill and power of the Axeman. These are stories of that
process.
" When is enough, enough?" This is the age old dilemma for all
artizens (artisans) until they understand all their limitations/potentials
and seek to achieve a balanced edge. A razor sharp thinly cut edge cuts
deep and breaks easily. An edge that is balanced is not overly ground or
overly honed. The hone stone is about smoothing out the nick's and defining
the edge! |

Having achieved a desirable balanced edge,
there remains nothing to do but put it to the test....do the work....
Create... Do something for the cosmos
and it will respond. Build it and they will come. This would be the
place to write about the progressive journal of the brave hearts who
have acquired such an edge!
Their hopes and dreams ride on delivering
this edge to the public arena. This is not an easy journey but this
is the place to forget all that and perform as one with with the
creative edge! As it happens we will talk about it here. |
